Writing Cabinet respects the privacy of its customers and recognizes that a fountain pen collection may contain personal, financial, and historically significant information.
This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and how customers can request assistance with their information.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Writing Cabinet, we may collect and process the following information.
Account information: Your name, email address, authentication information, account status, and subscription information.
Collection information: Information you enter about your fountain pens, including identifying details, acquisition records, purchase prices, condition, photographs, documents, service history, valuations, listings, sales, and other collection records.
Billing information: Subscription status, plan selection, invoices, payments, and related transaction information.
Security and operational information: Information necessary to authenticate users, protect accounts, investigate security events, maintain audit records, and operate the service.
Support communications: Information you provide when requesting assistance.
You determine what collection information to enter. Please avoid uploading sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for documenting your collection.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain customer accounts.
- Store, organize, display, and preserve collection records.
- Enforce subscription limits and provide purchased services.
- Process and reconcile subscription billing.
- Authenticate users and protect the service.
- Respond to support requests.
- Maintain operational, security, and historical audit records.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell customer collection records or personal information to advertisers.
3. Collection Privacy and Public Showcases
Your collection records are private by default.
Writing Cabinet offers an optional Public Collection Showcase. If you enable this feature, selected collection information becomes accessible through a separate public, read-only link.
Anyone possessing that link may be able to view the information presented in your showcase.
You may disable your showcase or regenerate its access link through the available account controls.
Disabling a showcase does not guarantee removal of information previously copied, downloaded, or otherwise retained by third parties.
Review the information displayed in your showcase before sharing its link.
4. Payment Processing
Writing Cabinet uses Stripe for subscription checkout, payment processing, and payment-method management.
Payment card information is entered through Stripe's payment interfaces.
Writing Cabinet does not store complete payment card numbers or card verification values.
We maintain billing records necessary to administer subscriptions, reconcile payments, provide billing history, and address billing inquiries.
Stripe processes payment information according to its own applicable privacy practices.
5. Service Providers
Writing Cabinet uses third-party service providers for functions such as application hosting, database storage, backups, and payment processing.
These providers may process information necessary to deliver their respective services.
We do not authorize service providers to use customer collection information for unrelated advertising purposes.
6. Security
Writing Cabinet uses authentication, access controls, account isolation, and other technical and administrative safeguards designed to protect customer information.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
Customers are responsible for protecting their login credentials and notifying Writing Cabinet if they suspect unauthorized account access.
Never provide your password or complete payment card details in a support email.
7. Data Retention and Collection History
Writing Cabinet is designed to preserve the history of individual fountain pens.
Selling, trading, gifting, or archiving a pen does not automatically delete its record.
Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions.
Collection records may remain available under the applicable account and subscription rules after a paid subscription ends.
Certain information may be retained for security, audit, billing, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes.
8. Account Deletion
Customers may request account deletion by contacting:
Account deletion is currently an administrator-assisted process rather than an automated self-service function.
Before deletion, Writing Cabinet may require verification of account ownership and resolution of active subscription or other administrative requirements.
The account-deletion process removes the applicable customer account and its account-owned collection information.
Certain user identity records, security audit records, billing-related records, or other information may be retained when necessary for legitimate operational, security, or legal purposes.
Deleted information may also remain temporarily in database backups or disaster-recovery copies until the applicable backup retention periods expire.
Writing Cabinet does not promise immediate deletion from every backup or historical recovery system.
9. Access, Correction, and Privacy Requests
Customers may review and update information through the features available in their accounts.

10. Changes to This Policy
