Terms of Service
Writing Cabinet
Version: 1.0
Effective date: September 16, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Writing Cabinet, an online fountain pen collection and inventory management application operated by an individual sole proprietor.
By creating an account and agreeing to these Terms, you agree to the conditions described below.
1. The Service
Writing Cabinet provides tools for documenting, organizing, managing, and preserving individual fountain pen records and their associated history.
Available functionality may include collection inventory, acquisition information, photographs, condition records, component history, service records, valuations, sale planning, transactions, and optional public collection sharing.
Features may evolve as the service develops.
2. Accounts and Responsibilities
You must provide accurate registration information and maintain access to the email address associated with your account.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account.
You must notify Writing Cabinet if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Writing Cabinet may require verification of account ownership before providing sensitive account assistance.
3. Your Collection Information
You retain responsibility for the collection information, photographs, documents, and other material you submit.
You must have the necessary rights or permission to upload and use that material.
You grant Writing Cabinet permission to store, process, reproduce, and display submitted material as necessary to provide the service and any sharing features you enable.
Writing Cabinet does not acquire ownership of your collection records merely because you store them in the application.
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of specifications, valuations, financial calculations, and other information used in purchasing, selling, insuring, or otherwise managing your collection.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Writing Cabinet for unlawful activities.
- Upload material you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to access another customer's private information.
- Interfere with application security or operation.
- Abuse authentication, administrative, or subscription systems.
Writing Cabinet may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, other customers, or comply with applicable law.
5. Plans and Collection Capacity
Writing Cabinet offers a permanent free Starter plan and optional paid subscription plans.
Starter allows up to five physical pen records without a subscription charge.
Paid plans provide additional collection capacity according to the limits and prices displayed on the Writing Cabinet pricing page.
Every physical pen record counts toward plan capacity, including records preserved in the Archive.
Changing or canceling a subscription does not automatically delete collection records.
If an account exceeds the capacity of its current plan, access to records may be limited according to the application's established capacity rules.
Export remains available on the Starter plan.
6. Free Trials
Eligible customer accounts may receive a one-time seven-day trial of a paid plan.
Trial eligibility is determined at the customer-account level.
Trial availability and applicable billing terms are presented during subscription enrollment.
A trial does not create an entitlement to repeated free trials.
7. Billing and Renewals
Paid subscriptions are offered on monthly or annual billing intervals at the prices presented during checkout.
Subscription payments and payment-method management are processed through Stripe.
By enrolling in a paid subscription, you authorize the applicable recurring charges disclosed during checkout until the subscription is canceled.
Applicable taxes, if any, will be presented as part of the checkout process.
Writing Cabinet does not store complete payment card numbers or card verification values.
8. Subscription Cancellation
Customers may manage and cancel paid subscriptions through the available Stripe subscription-management interface.
Cancellation timing and continued paid access depend on the applicable subscription terms and the effective cancellation date.
Canceling a paid subscription does not automatically delete your account or collection history.
After paid access ends, the account becomes subject to its applicable plan and capacity rules.
9. Refunds
Refund requests are reviewed individually.
To request a refund, contact:

Public Collection Showcase is optional and disabled by default.
If you enable a showcase, information included in its public view may be accessed by anyone with the applicable link.
You are responsible for reviewing the information you choose to make public.
Disabling a showcase cannot guarantee removal of information previously retained by third parties.
11. Availability and Changes
Writing Cabinet may undergo maintenance, updates, interruptions, or changes to its functionality.
We aim to preserve customer records and maintain reliable service, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Material changes affecting subscriptions or customer rights will be handled subject to applicable law and any required notice.
